The most common travel from Jakarta to Pulau Weh is From Sukarno Hatta International Airport to Kuala Namu International Airport in Deli Serdang, North Sumatra, transit in Kuala Namu International Airport, then continue to Sultan Iskandar Muda International Airport in Banda Aceh, Province NAD. From Sultan Iskandar Muda International Airport, get a taxi that can be directly go to Ulue Lee Harbour. Or, by bus DAMRI from Sultan Iskandar Muda International Airport to Banda Aceh, usually will go to area around Mesjid Agung, and from Mesjid Agung, get a car, labi-labi or becak to Ulue Lee Harbour. From Ulue Lee Harbour, get a Fast Ferry, a fiber glass Ferry or RORO Ferry that transport motorcycle, cars and trucks to Balohan Harbour in Pulau Weh.

Another alternative to get Pulau Weh is via Medan, North Sumatra. Get the flights from Sukarno Hatta International Airport, DKI Jakarta to Kuala Namu International Airport, Deli Serdang, North Sumatra. From Kuala Namu International Airport, Deli Serdang, get the Airport Railway Station, the building in front of the Airport Main Building, to Medan Railway Station. From Medan Railway Station, go to Aceh Bus Pool on Jalan Gajah Mada, Medan or to Aceh Bus Pool on Jalan Gatot Subroto, Medan using taxi or becak. Or from Kuala Namu International Airport, Deli Serdang directly get a taxi to the bus pools.

Alternative from Kuala Namu Airport to Medan City is get an Airport Bus named ALS from Kuala Namu International Airport, Deli Serdang to Bus Station at Medan Fair Plaza in Medan, then continue by taxi or becak to bus pool on Jalan Gajah Mada or Jalan Gatot Subroto, Medan. Both of the buses usually have buses that depart from Medan to Banda Aceh daily. The travel from Medan to Banda Aceh Bus Station approximately around 12 hours. From Banda Aceh's Bus Station, get taxi, labi-labi or becak to Ulue Lee Harbour then continue to Balohan Harbour by Fast Ferry or RORO Ferry.
